Current Openings
Floater
The nature of the floating teacher role will require that you be responsible for supervision and nurturing engagement for children in all of our classrooms and with a wide variety of age groups (infants – 5-year-olds). Your weekly schedule will revolve around planning and break support for staff as well as acting in a substitute capacity when a teacher may be absent.
The floater is responsible to the Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working with the teachers in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children.
- Obtaining in-service and yearly training requirements.
- Having a working knowledge of NC Child Care rules and regulations.
- Keeping teachers and the Director informed of problems that arise in the classroom.
- Assisting in keeping the rooms well organized and arranged appropriately.
- Cooperate with other staff at the school to create a professional environment.
- Make sure children are supervised at all times. Visual supervision should occur at all times and staff will disperse themselves throughout the areas where children are playing.
- Assisting with food preparation as needed.
- Relieve classroom teachers for planning time.
- Helping as needed in all classrooms.
- Be able to lift 30 lbs, carry children, speak, hear, see, use hands to perform necessary care routines and manipulate objects.
Minimum Qualifications
This person will:
- Be at least 18 years of age; and
- Have or must be working towards an AAS degree in CD/ECE or equivalent.
